A bookshop is a good place to take photos. It is a quiet environment, people are entertained flicking through books and they do not look at the camera.
People move little and it’s easy to approach and find the best angle to take the picture.
This library has bright color walls, ideal for highlighting people. It has also good lighting.
Almost all the photos were taken at maximum aperture diaphragm, with not too high ISO. The X100S performs beautifully with this level of light.
The bookshop has corners to sit and browse books. We go there to find the photo.
Sometimes it’s hard to put titles to photos. In this case, the titles of the books help us. Readers cut by the edge of the photo and its proximity convey us some high voltage (alta tensión).
Guess who appears in the mirror behind the can with eyes?
Taking pictures in the photography section has charm.
All photos were taken without looking through the viewfinder, with the screen off and X100S in silent mode. In this mode, there’s no beep to tell us when the photo is focused, you need to calculate time focus. The X100S makes no noise when shooting.
Being in a closed and quiet environment, you have to be very discreet and unnoticed. The X100S, hanging around the neck, does not draw attention and nobody notices it.
Of course, we must practice to take such photos without looking and on the sly. A basic rule is not look at the screen of the camera after taking the picture, at least until we find a discreet place where we can review photos without attracting attention.
